Welcome to the Divorce Transition Professionals (DTP)

DTP was founded in 2017. Our primary Mission Statement that still holds true today is: 

Making Divorce Just a Little Bit Easier™

We believe that this can be accomplished by bringing together amazing professionals all of whom have expertise in the divorce landscape and all of whom understand what it means to collaborate.

 At each chapter meeting we bring you a top-notch speaker or program, providing on-going education, and an opportunity to network and collaborate with some of the best divorce professionals in your community. Our meetings are typically an hour. We respect that you are a busy professional and are sure to provide a compelling, productive meeting, the ultimate results of which will meet our goal of supporting folks as they go through divorce and in growing your business, concurrently.

This event is completely free to all FIRST-TIME attendees. It is an opportunity to learn more about the Divorce Transition Professionals. If you are a professional with divorce expertise, please check us out.

Kim J. Onisko

Kim serves in an Of Counsel role at BPM, working in Forensic Accounting and Business Transition Services.

Kim has worked in litigation since 1992 and is often called as an expert witness in the areas of accounting, economic damages and forensic accounting. He has performed economic loss analysis in matters of intellectual property, contract disputes, loss of profits and personal injury cases. He has also performed special forensic engagements for local and state governmental agencies in fraud and economic damage matters.

Kim has testified as an economic expert in State and Federal courts. His opinion testimony has ranged in matters of size from $100 thousand to over $500 million.

Kim has performed forensic accounting and asset tracings in business, estate and family law litigation. He has performed due diligence in several private M&A transactions. He has been retained as an expert in criminal matters regarding “white collar crime.” Kim has also worked in the defense of clients investigated by State and Federal agencies such as State Auditors, Offices of the Inspector General, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service and various State taxing authorities.

Kim has consulted on and has opined on business valuations in several industries. He has calculated values of business ownership interests and values of intangible assets in commercial and family law matters.

Kim has been appointed as a referee under Code of Civil Procedure 639 and has been chosen as the court’s valuation analyst in commercial litigation. He regularly serves as an agreed upon forensic in family law and estate matters under Evidence Code 730. He has testified in State and Federal court trials from San Francisco to San Diego.

Maddie is a Financial Advisor who joined The Maize Group in 2020. After studying finance and economics at The University of Southern California, she started her career working as a Municipal Bond Analyst at Guggenheim Partners. While at Guggenheim Partners, she realized how much she missed connecting and helping others. Exploring other career options, she realized that advising was the perfect blend of her top two interests: capital markets and helping people.

Maddie’s approach to advising is based on who her clients are as individuals. Her investment recommendations are never the same from client to client because no two clients have the same set of financial circumstances. She finds joy in educating her clients and helping to find suitable solutions that fit their unique needs and wants. In Maddie’s mind, the guide to any client relationship is their financial plan. While many plans change over time, she prides herself on having timely communication with clients to ensure they always know she is looking after their assets so they can spend time living the life they love.

Maddie is an active member of her Alumni network and volunteers as a mentor at the USC Dornsife School of Economics. She also enjoys community involvement and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce. Before her career in finance, Maddie had a 15-year long career in athletics including earning a swimming scholarship to USC and qualifying for the 2016 United States Olympic Trials of Swimming in three events. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, reading, international travel, and considers herself a “foodie”. She lives in Seal Beach with her husband and black Labrador Retriever.

Neil Palache is dedicated to empowering women as is shown by his involvement in many community and business organizations such as the National Association of Women Business Owners Ventura County, Women’s Economic Ventures and the International Women’s Festivals Santa Barbara. He has also started several groups such as the Money Mastermind for Women™ and the Divorce Transition Professionals™. Neil has been married to Stacie since 1987, has three beautiful children and lives and works in Westlake Village, California.
