Maya Shulman The founder of Shulman Family Law Group, Maya Shulman offers legal representation to those in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties who are dealing with issues of family law, including divorce and custody. Her years of working with complex, difficult family law matters prepared her to handle complicated matters of move away cases, interstate and international family law. With a deep commitment to confidentiality and discretion, Ms. Shulman often handles complex matters of custody, surrogacy and entangled divorce for residents of California.
Ms. Shulman studied medicine at the Medical Academy in Latvia; earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Brooklyn College in 1995; and then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law in 1999. A former family law instructor at the paralegal program at the Los Angeles Valley College, Ms. Shulman is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and California, and before the Supreme Court of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U. S. Supreme Court. Also handling matters of adoption and assisted reproduction technologies, Ms. Shulman is a member of the family law sections of The Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, Ventura County and the American Bar Associations. Other professional associations and memberships include The International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. With the ability to speak Russian, and understand Slavic languages of the Eastern Europe, Ms. Shulman is well versed in the issues the US immigrant population faces and has worked in the past with St. Vincent's Center for Family Law. Additionally, as someone who attended medical school, Ms. Shulman has a strong understanding of potential clients from the medical field.

Center4SpecialNeeds is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded in 2011 that provides resources, education, and programs for families and individuals affected by developmental disabilities in Ventura County, California. Center4SpecialNeeds' vision is to have families benefit from the information we provide, to help children progress, to help parents restore some balance in their lives and not feel they are in constant crisis mode. We want parents, who are feeling isolated and alone, to feel embraced and supported. We want to provide opportunities for individuals with special needs as they develop into thriving members of our community. Be Part of the Change! Center4SpecialNeeds is a non-profit organization and depends on your generous support! Our monthly goal is for 300 individuals to make a monthly pledge of $20 for one year, which would provide the funding we need to sustain our programs, and expand to reach more individuals and families. For $20 per month, less than the price of one dinner for two at a casual restaurant, you have the opportunity to improve the quality of life for someone with special needs!
