DTP was founded in 2017. Our primary Mission Statement that still holds true today is:
Making Divorce Just a Little Bit Easier™
We believe that this can be accomplished by bringing together amazing professionals all of whom have expertise in the divorce landscape and all of whom understand what it means to collaborate.
At each chapter meeting we bring you a top-notch speaker or program, providing on-going education, and an opportunity to network and collaborate with some of the best divorce professionals in your community. Our meetings are typically an hour. We respect that you are a busy professional and are sure to provide a compelling, productive meeting, the ultimate results of which will meet our goal of supporting folks as they go through divorce and in growing your business, concurrently.

Patricia De Fonte
You Cannot Be Your Client's Only Advisor
Every client needs a team; no advisor can provide them with all the deliverables, insights, and support they need to protect themselves, their families, and their assets. Spending time with other members of your client's advisory team or helping them build an advisor team they can count on is the mark of a true professional. Learn how financial advisors, insurance brokers, estate planning and other attorneys, and real estate professionals must work together to truly support and care for every client. Patricia De Fonte is an estate planning attorney in California. She and her team provide all of her client's advisors with the information and documents they need to ensure their advisors are taking the right steps to protect their clients and their assets. By spending meaningful time with other professionals, Patricia knows how to spot an issue. She may not have the answer, but she knows who to send her clients to for thoughtful, thorough assistance.
Patricia De Fonte is an estate planning attorney and the founder of De Fonte Law PC, where she offers what she calls "estate planning with heart." Patricia established her firm to create a better experience for clients, one that preserves family harmony, empowers heirs, and thoughtfully reflects their values. Her dedication to estate planning and her clients earned her a spot on the 2021 San Francisco Super Lawyers list, as well as the 2021 BBB Torch Award for Ethics in the San Francisco Bay Area.
While obtaining her LL.M. in Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration from Golden Gate University, Patricia witnessed the federal exclusion rate (the amount of money exempt from federal taxes) jump to $23 million. Recognizing that most clients don’t have anywhere near that amount, her professors shifted the focus from tax issues to helping clients in every way possible. This approach includes reviewing insurance, ensuring clients have excellent financial advisors and CPAs, and creating estate plans that reflect their unique personalities and goals. Golden Gate University’s commitment to social justice became a core value for Patricia, and it continues to guide her practice. For Patricia, estate planning is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally satisfying, and she truly loves what she does.
When she’s not working at the firm, Patricia can likely be found reading The New Yorker in her backyard under her lemon tree, on vacation, watching zombie shows, or spending time with family and friends. Known for her natural warmth and relatability, Patricia treats her clients as if they were family—at least until Cards Against Humanity comes out, then all bets are off.
