This Month's Sponsor

Gabe Swan
Swan Retirement Planning - Financial Advisor

Tel: (805) 570-3765

Gabe Swan originally attended the University of California Santa Barbara to study Chemical Engineering only to realize that his love of numbers and analytical mind translated better to Business and Finance.

Before becoming an Advisor, Gabe spent many years in banking as a relationship manager, gaining experience in lending, business and account management. Finding his passion in planning, truly helping people get from where they were financially to where they wanted to be, he began preparing for a career as an Advisor.

More than a decade of experience in banking and finance has taught Gabe that no single approach to planning is perfect for every family, which is why he has received training and experience in so many modalities.

Putting together a solid financial plan is a lot like building your dream house. It starts with a dream and, if you’re focused, turns into a plan. With your goal in mind, Gabe can help assemble your blueprint for success and prosperity, for a retirement that incorporates your needs, your wants and your wishes with all the milestones along the way.

Gabe is also a husband, a dad, and a public speaker. He holds a Series 7, Series 66, Life, Accident and Health licenses.

DTP Ventura Chapter Leader

Carlos Camargo
Reverse Mortgage Professional

Tel: (805) 985-2808

Carlos Camargo found his calling to help and serve people after enlisting in the United States Air Force. He had rewarding careers in Law Enforcement, Software Sales and even taught Scuba Diving in Maui, Hawaii & Guam, but his true passion has been helping people with their Real Estate & Mortgage Lending needs.

Carlos obtained his Real Estate Salesperson license in 2003, his Brokers License in 2007 and for the past 11 years he has been a dedicated Reverse Mortgage Professional.

Often misunderstood, a Reverse Mortgage can help individuals and couples, as well as their family and trusted advisors, look at how housing wealth can be an Integral Part of Retirement Income Planning versus a product of last resort.

Open Mortgage gives their clients a competitive advantage by offering Traditional and Reverse Mortgage programs that as a direct lender are handled from start to finish versus having to broker out the loans. They can customize a loan program that is optimal for their clients and Carlos is available for in-home appointments. Their goal is to provide a superior level of service before, during and after the loan and the company motto is “Where Better Is Possible”

DTP Ventura - Chapter Host

Tel: (805) 644-1621

We’re a dedicated Mortgage Service Provider located in Ventura County, assisting homebuyers throughout California. We’ve been one of the top lenders in the tri-county area for the last 3 years. We’ve helped people find houses they doubted they were able to afford.

We Do the Heavy Lifting for You

With so many sources of financial assistance it’s nearly impossible for the average homebuyer to know what is available to them. Our job is to do the shopping for you, and assist all eligible applicants in finding the proper financial resources to purchase a home.

Our main reason for success is that we constantly educate ourselves on the many and sometimes daunting areas of the mortgage market. We have access to over 50 lenders and their guidelines. We also regularly meet with representatives from each of the lenders, where we discuss changes and new vital home lending information. We also hold functions where we invite the public to come and ask the lenders questions to get a first-hand view of lending requirements.

The difference between a good agent and a great agent is that a good agent will know the information that is given in industry standards. The great agent will seek more information and stay on top of the laws and changes in the market place. At one point, due to the market crash, rules were changing on nearly a daily basis in the mortgage industry. Many of the agents who had made a good living in a thriving market were being forced out. They weren’t able to keep up. In short, they were in it for the short term and weren’t prepared for the tremendous amount of work to stay up on the trends. While several mortgage companies were closing their doors, we thrived. Many of our competitors were stumped on what we were doing. There was no secret, only hard work and awareness kept us in the game.

It’s Not Magic, It’s Math!

There are no secrets to this business, and there’s no getting around the fact that numbers don’t lie. Our most important job is to give you a clear and concise projection about the home you may want to refinance or purchase. We’ll meet with you to discuss the type of home you want, review your financial standing and help you determine a price range that is suitable for your wants without killing your budget.

We don’t want to put our clients in a struggling position. That’s why we won’t give you a loan that you can’t afford. We simply explore every angle to maximize your growing potential

DTP Non-Profit of Choice

Center4SpecialNeeds is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded in 2011 that provides resources, education, and programs for families and individuals affected by developmental disabilities in Ventura County, California.  Center4SpecialNeeds' vision is to have families benefit from the information we provide, to help children progress, to help parents restore some balance in their lives and not feel they are in constant crisis mode. We want parents, who are feeling isolated and alone, to feel embraced and supported. We want to provide opportunities for individuals with special needs as they develop into thriving members of our community.

Be Part of the Change!

Center4SpecialNeeds is a non-profit organization and depends on your generous support!

Our monthly goal is for 300 individuals to make a monthly pledge of $20 for one year, which would provide the funding we need to sustain our programs, and expand to reach more individuals and families. For $20 per month, less than the price of one dinner for two at a casual restaurant, you have the opportunity to improve the quality of life for someone with special needs!

  • C4SN has undergone a dramatic expansion in our programs for children, teens, young adults, and families affected by developmental disabilities.
  • We now employ 6 part-time paid staff and numerous volunteers with special needs!
  • Without the safe and compassionate space of our office, many of these young adults would be isolated from the community and spending much of their time at home.

We need your support! You can join Center4SpecialNeeds in making an impact for individuals & their families by making a financial contribution, volunteering, or offering a donation of services or items. Click here to be part of the change and help us reach our goal!
